DPF Restoration/Regens
What is a DPF service?
DPF service refers to maintenance or repair performed on a Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF)—a component in modern diesel engines designed to reduce harmful exhaust emissions..
How it works...
A DPF service involves diagnosing, cleaning, or restoring the diesel particulate filter when it becomes clogged with soot and ash. The filter traps microscopic soot particles from exhaust gases and periodically burns them off through a process called regeneration (passive, active, or forced). When regeneration fails or the filter becomes overloaded, engine performance drops and warning lights
*Scanning the ECM for fault codes and soot/ash load levels
*Checking exhaust temperature, differential pressure sensors, and EGT sensors
*Performing or verifying a forced regeneration (if safe and allowed)
*Cleaning the DPF (on-truck or off-truck) to remove soot and ash buildup
*Inspecting related components (EGR system, DOC, sensors, turbo health)
*Resetting learned values and clearing codes after service
